Character Profiles- No Country For Old Men

Image result for llewelyn mossLlewelyn Moss, is shown to be the hero in the film. He is a 36 year old Vietnam War vet. He finds 2.4 million dollars after a drug deal gone wrong. Llewelyn knows the money will changed his and his wife's life. However, after taking this money he then gets himself in to a lot of trouble with Anton Chigurh who is trying to kill him. Llewelyn I think represents most of the audience, the audience try and sympathies with him, as all he wanted was a better life for his family.

Image result for Anton chigurhAnton Chigurh, is the villain of the film. He is cold and calculated , he doesn't seem to have any emotions of kindness or sympathy. He also hardly feels pain. Chigurh has set rules that he goes by but not any sane human would. Chigurh says he has no enemies but that's because he kills anyone that could be. He is also a man of his word, if he says he's going to kill you he is going to kill you.


Image result for sheriff bellSheriff Bell, is the 'useless' character in the film, he says how much he wants to protect Llewelyn, but he fails. He wants to help Carla Jean. He fails again. He is apart of the 'good Vs. evil' but the audience never know what side he is fighting for. He never actually confronts Anton Chigurh, he retires. So, we presume that Chigurh is still out there killing. However, Bell does feel quality. He says at the end of the film that he got a medal from going to war, but he got that medal from surviving but all of his friends died. He says he carried this feeling of quilt, until he tells his wife.




Image result for carla jean mossCarla Jean Moss, is Llewelyns wife. Even though she is kept in the dark about the money, she knows something is wrong. She is loyal to Llewelyn even when he tells her she needs to run away, even if he is a criminal she still believes in him. By trusting him, this immediately puts her life in danger as Llewelyn doesn't take Chigurh seriously. Even though Chigurh gets the money he still kills Carla because he keeps his word, and also because Llewelyn didn't hand the money straight over to him which made him an inconvenience and since he dies earlier on in the film, he kills his wife instead.

BFI Film Festival 'Breathe'

I was given the chance to go to the film festival, in London to watch the new breath taking film 'Breathe'. It's a heart wrenching film, based on a true story about the producers (Johnathon Cavendish) father, who was diagnosed with polio when he was just 28 years of age, just weeks before his son (Johnathon Cavendish) was born. It takes us on a journey through his battle of polio and all of the obstacles in his way. Robin Cavendish, who in the film is portrayed through the actor Andrew Garfield, is given no longer than two weeks to live outside of the hospital. This is because in the 1960's they didn't have the best technology, so the doctors didn't think he would be able to survive. However, he proves the doctors wrong. Office christmas party is an american christmas comedy, directed by Josh Gordon and Will Speck and was written by Justin Malen and Laura Solon. Some of the themes in this film are, violence and the use of drugs and alcohol. The production company that worked on this film was DreamWorks Pictures.  'Office Christmas Party' grossed $54.8 million in the United States and Canada and $59.7 million in other territories for a wideworld total of $114.5 million, against a production budget of $45 million.  The film is based on the CEO who is played by Jennifer Aniston, who tries to close her brothers branch down, so he and his technical officer get all of their co-workers together to host a christmas party to try and impress a potential client, which will hopefully save their jobs.  In 2010, Guymon Casady approached Josh Gorden and Will Speck with an idea he had about making a film about a holiday office party.
